The new season gets underway this coming weekend. After acheiving promotion last season the big kick off begins on Saturday with the First team's inaugral Division 2 game against Orrell St.James. The club's new second team begins their campaign at Blackpool Scorpions.

New players to boost the strength of the open age squad are very welcome to attend training on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the ground on Hutchinson Street.

On Sunday the new facility really comes into it's own with three games scheduled starting with the U'14s against Latchford Albion followed by the U'16s tough encounter with Bold Miners and completed with the National Youth Fixture against Keighley Cougars.

The U'15s are the only away fixture at Oldham St.Annes.

The rest of the club's teams start their fixtures next week.

West Bank Bears U'17s 12 v 12 Hindley - 29.8.2010

West Bank opened their pre season campaign with a solid performance. The first friendly got off to a great start when a Liam Orme converted a penalty for a late tackle on Keiron Conroy. West Bank's defence lapsed mid way through the first half and Hindley's number 10 crashed over line to make it 6-2.

West Bank stepped up their defence and a forced error led to a wide spread from the scrum to Colin Wright. He stepped past his defender before running 60m to off load to the supporting Cian Sothern, he then found Chris Davies who evaded 3 tacklers before off loading to Adam Crossley to get West Bank's first try. On the stroke of half time Orme added another penalty goal after a trip on Liam Quinn.

West Bank increased the pressure in defence in the second half and strong tackling from Crossley, Thorp and Bell helped Bank maintain the majority possession. However Hindley scored again midway through the second half with a well worked move to the right to make it 12-8. Bank increased possession with the pack leading the way with stand out performances from Lee Mannion and Callum Thorp. After a 10 minute spell Chris Davies's run from dummy half split Hindley's defence for the last points of the game.

A great game for the neutral fan and Bank entertain Wigan St Cuthberts in the first home game next sunday. Bank will be at full strength with return of both Marcus Vernon and Nathan Dolan.
